Dance That Stage aims to provide secondary school students with the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, showcasing the work they’ve been developing in school to a wider audience, including other schools. Our goal is to celebrate and recognise young dancers, while fostering a sense of empowerment and engagement through Dance.
We also strive to support teachers by making it easy to bring dance pieces to the platform; without requiring significant additional preparation. Pieces can be developed as part of regular classwork or extra-curricular and do not need to be extensively reworked for the event.
The event will operate as a Dance Platform, with rehearsal time in the day and the performance in the evening, where an audience is invited to attend. In addition, we will present a range of awards to recognise students and schools' contributions, such as 'Stand Out Dancer' and 'Outstanding Choreography'. The awards and their wording will be linked to the GCSE specification, giving students exposure to the specification in a new setting.
All dance styles are welcome, and we are committed to making our events inclusive and accessible to all.
Be part of something exciting and register today to participate in one of our first Dance Platforms in Hampshire! Give your students something to work towards and the opportunity to share their work on a professional stage.
