Dance Platforms with a twist!
We’re excited to host dance platforms for secondary school students, but these aren’t your typical performances. There are awards to be won, and we’re here to celebrate your hard work and recognise the amazing contributions happening in Dance across schools.
Each school can bring up to three dance pieces (max total: nine minutes), whether it’s classwork, extra-curricular, or student-led projects. All welcome, as long as it was choreographed at your School.
We’re committed to making these platforms accessible and inclusive so you can focus on performing, sharing, and enjoying dance.
Don't forget our competition for photography students! Bring up to three photography students along to capture the day and performance, they can then enter up to six photos. A wonderful opportunity for a cross-curricular experience.
At Dance That Stage, our awards are about recognising the celebrating dancers in secondary schools. Linking our awards to the GCSE dance specification links our platforms to inside the classroom, enriching their learning and understanding. From technical skill and choreographic creativity to musicality, leadership, and team spirit, every award reflects the unique contribution each student brings to our dance community.
On arrival, teachers will be greeted with an information pack containing all relevant policies and a detailed schedule for the day. Students will be welcomed into the theatre for a brief introduction before being shown to their dressing rooms.
The day then begins with the tech run, where we encourage students from all schools to watch and support one another. Following the tech run, there will be a break along with a dance workshop led by an industry professional.
Then it's time for the show! Once the curtain comes down, all students will return to the stage to collect their awards.
