Pre-Professional Dance Training Programme (Ages 13–18) - Auditions are here!
Auditions are free to attend and our first audition date will be July 11th 10am-12pm at Itchen Sizth Form College, sign up today as spaces are limited! Keep up to date on all news and opportunities by following dance that stage on Instagram and Facebook.
Our weekly training programme is designed for committed young dancers aged 13–18 who are looking to develop their technique, creativity, and performance skills in a focused, pre-professional environment.
Delivered by experienced industry practitioners, sessions combine technical training, creative exploration, and rehearsal processes to support dancers in building the skills required for further training and a future in dance.
Across the academic year, dancers will:
Strengthen technical foundations
Develop versatility across contemporary dance practices
Gain experience in creative and choreographic processes
Take part in exciting performance opportunities to showcase their skills
Build confidence, discipline, and artistic voice
Be part of a team and part of the wider dance community
The programme is ideal for dancers considering full-time training, auditions, or a career in the arts, as well as those seeking a more intensive and challenging weekly class.
Classes take place weekly during term time (39 weeks per year).
We are committed to keeping high-quality training accessible, with a focus on dedication, potential, passion for dance, and providing lots of opportunities to perform throughout the year.
The training will be on Monday evenings 6.00 - 8.00pm in Southampton - studio tbc. The successful dancers will join us from September.
The fee is £429 for the full year, reflecting the commitment required to take part in a youth dance company and the continuity needed to create high-quality performance work.
This equates to just £11 per week for a two-hour rehearsal, or approximately £5.50 per hour of professional dance training, offering excellent value for a structured, year-long programme led by experienced dance artists.
We strongly encourage dancers to commit to the full year, as each term builds on the last and consistent attendance is essential in developing both individual progress and a cohesive company.
We understand that paying in full may not be possible for everyone. Alternative payment arrangements can be discussed on an individual basis, and we are happy to support families in finding a manageable option where needed. We never want cost to be a barrier to participation. Bursaries are not currently available but we hope to offer them to future cohorts.
