No — no previous dance experience is required.
Our sessions are designed to be inclusive, supportive and adaptable, so every dancer feels confident and challenged at their own level.
Dancers will explore a range of styles, including, street dance, contemporary/lyrical and musical theatre. They might also get a chance to learn about choreography and start to choreograph their own section of dance or dance piece. Sessions also include fun movement games and creative activities to keep the week engaging and balanced.
Yes!
The camp finishes with a final performance where dancers can showcase their routines to parents and carers. More details will be shared closer to the time. It is fairly informal and not ticketed.
We will do our best to ensure all children feel confident, well practiced, and excited about the show. We encourage everyone to participate if they feel comfortable. However, if your child is certain they do not want to perform, that’s completely okay, there are plenty of other ways for them to be involved on the final day. They could help backstage, assist with hair and makeup, support their peers, or help with props and costumes, allowing them to be part of the experience in a way that suits them.
Your child’s safety and well-being are our top priority. All of our staff are prepared to respond quickly and calmly to any injuries. For minor bumps and scrapes, we will provide care on-site and let you know. If anything more serious happens, we will contact emergency services immediately and keep you informed every step of the way. We also encourage you to share any medical conditions or concerns with us before camp so we can ensure your child is fully supported. Our goal is for every child to feel safe, cared for, and confident while enjoying all the fun activities.
What’s your phone policy?
We encourage children to fully engage in camp activities, so we ask that phones and other personal devices be kept off during sessions. Children can bring phones for emergency contact purposes, but they should remain in backpacks or handed to staff during activities. This helps everyone stay focused, safe, and fully enjoy the experience. If there’s a need to contact your child during the day, please reach out to us directly: we’ll make sure your message gets to them.
Yes. All dancers are fully supervised at all times in a safe, supportive environment.
Sessions are led by qualified dance teachers with experience working with children and young people as well as DBS checks.
Dancers should bring: Comfortable dancewear or sportswear, trainers, a packed lunch and snacks, a refillable water bottle, hair tie if they have long hair, sun cream and hat (in case the weather is nice and we head outside for some activities). Further details will be sent to parents before the camp begins.
Each day includes: full warm up at the start of the day, split into smaller groups (if applicable and may be done by age or ability) and learn the first routine of the day. After a short break there will then be a creative activity such as jewellery making or photography, then lunch, after lunch rehearsals of the dance will continue. We will aim to learn one routine a day, this means if your child attends all week they will be in at least 3 dances. The final camp day is rehearsal and refinement ready for their show.
We do our best to ensure friends can stay together throughout the camp, particularly during workshops and activities. However, some sessions may involve grouping dancers by age or ability to make sure everyone gets the most out of the experience.
Rest assured, all groups are supervised, supportive and friendly, and we always aim to help dancers feel comfortable and included.
